Jaktour and Bamus Approved Betawi Cultural Pilot Project Hotel

PT. Jakarta Tourisindo (Jaktour) and Betawi Consultative Board (Bamus) have signed memorandum of understanding to make Grand Cempaka Business Hotel as Betawi Cultural Pilot Project Hotel.

This hotel will become a basis in promoting Betawi culture

PT. Jakpro President Director, Emeraldo Parengkuan said, currently 30 rooms and restaurant inside that hotel have been decorated with Betawi ornament.

"We will make Betawi house miniature. It is also enlivened with music and provided with Betawi authentic dishes at hotel's lobby," he said on Monday (6/19) night.

City Continues to Conserve Betawi Culture

He continued that his side is still collecting Betawi culinary from each regions to be shown in hotel's routine event.

Betawi Bamus Head, Zainuddin considered that effort to realize the regulation in preserving Betawi is good enough. Focus to create creative economy has also been directed.

"This hotel will become a basis in promoting Betawi culture. Moreover, this pilot project can increase BUMD revenue," he expressed.

Jakarta Secretary's Economy Bureau Head, Sri Haryati added, Betawi ornaments should be its characteristic.

"When entering airport and hotel, ornaments should be there," she closed.
